If the practice uses “Pediatric Advisor”, which for some PCC Practices is accessible through Partner, they have the ability to print Spanish versions of handouts. Otherwise, PCC EHR clients have access to materials in multiple languages via Medline Plus or they can provide their own materials. PCC EHR clients should be able to get auto-credit for this. Partner clients would only be able to get auto-credit if they have implemented Pediatric Advisor to work through Partner.

The practice engages in activities to understand and meet the cultural and linguistic needs of its patients/families by:

2.C.1 Assessing the diversity of its population.

Race and ethnicity are tracked in Partner in the patient editor and can easily be updated at the time of checkin. This information can also be updated in PCC EHR. Partner reports can be generated to show how many patients have each race and ethnicity value.

2.C.3 Providing interpretation or bilingual services to meet the language needs of its population.

The practice would need to provide documentation showing their use of interpretation services. When the practice uses staff or an outside service to interpret during a visit, this should be noted in the visit.

2.C.4 Providing printed materials in the languages of its population.

If the practice uses “Pediatric Advisor”, which for some PCC Practices is accessible through Partner, they have the ability to print Spanish versions of handouts. Otherwise, PCC EHR clients have access to materials in multiple languages via the patient education tool and materials from Medline Plus or the AAP. Or they can provide their own materials in different languages when appropriate.

Note that CDC VIS documents are translated into many languages and count for this endeavor.

PCC EHR clients should be able to get auto-credit for this
